About The Irish Hub
The Irish Hub ("we", "our", or "us") is an online Irish language learning platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand how we handle your information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
Information We Collect
We only collect the information you provide when you register for an account:
- Name: Your first and last name
- Email address: Used for account login and communication
- Password: Securely encrypted and stored
- Google profile data (if you choose Google sign-in): Your Google account ID, primary email address, profile photo URL, and the name supplied by Google. We do not receive your Google password.
Additionally, we automatically collect:
- Referrer information: We capture the website or source that directed you to our platform (e.g., a search engine, social media site, or another website). This helps us understand how users discover our service and improve our marketing efforts. This information is stored with your account and may include UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign) if present in the URL you used to visit us.
Signing in with Google
You can choose to create an account or log in using Google OAuth. When you do, Google tells us who you are by sharing your basic profile information. We use this data to create or link your Irish Hub account and to keep your avatar in sync.
- We store your Google ID so you can sign in again without a password.
- We may store the profile image URL Google provides to display an avatar in your dashboard.
- We do not gain access to your Google account password or to any other data from your Google Drive, Calendar, or contacts.
- Google may set cookies that are required to keep you signed in. These fall under essential cookies and are described in our Cookies Policy.
- You can disconnect Google sign-in at any time by contacting us at privacy@theirishhub.ie.

- Provide access to our learning tools and lessons
- Send you lesson reminders and updates (if you opt in)
- Process subscription payments
- Process one-time product purchases and grant product-based entitlements

Certificates and Verification
If you complete an eligible on-demand programme, we may issue a completion certificate ("Teastas").
Eligibility logic currently used by the platform includes:
- Completion of all required sections for the relevant programme level
- Required videos reaching at least 95% watch progress
- Required assessments scoring above 85%
To issue and verify certificates, we process certificate-related records such as your name, course/programme title, completion date, certificate ID, and generated certificate assets (for example PDF and share image files).
We also provide a public verification page using the certificate ID. That page is designed to show only the minimum data needed to confirm authenticity.
We retain certificate and verification records for as long as needed to provide verification, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.

Advertising & Analytics
When you enable analytics cookies, we may share hashed identifiers (for example, a SHA-256 hash of your email address) and conversion metadata with advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, and TikTok. This allows us to understand which campaigns lead to registrations, subscriptions, or mock oral purchases while keeping your raw contact information private.
- Only hashed identifiers are transmitted, partners never receive your plain-text email address.
- We include only the minimum necessary event details (e.g., conversion type, value, timestamp, consent flag).
- You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie banner; future conversions will not be sent to advertising partners.
- We store campaign attribution data (UTM parameters, GCLID, etc.) securely and only for as long as needed for reporting and optimisation.
These processing activities are based on your consent. If you do not grant consent for analytics cookies, we will not send advertising conversion data to these partners.
